President Trump has been pushing for a wall to be constructed along the U.S. Mexico border since he took office two years ago.
During the fight to get the funding needed for the wall the President declared a national emergency in order to get the money that was needed to construct the wall.
Since January there had not been any new wall pieces put into place. But a lot has changed since the start of the year.
Congress approved $1.375 billion for border fencing just a few months back.
But by April 23rd The House of Representatives took the border wall issue to court asking a federal judge to stop the building of the wall.
The request was given to U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden.
According to House General Counsel Doug Letter and the lawyers, “Once made, these unconstitutional expenditures cannot be undone, and the grave institutional injury inflicted on the House cannot be remedied.”
The House of Representatives issued a 56-page request to the judge stating that the President is trying to circumvent the constitution and not allow the House to take care of the money matters.
The House is seeking to block the funding of the wall that came as a result of the emergency declaration that came in February.
The President sees the constant illegal border crossings and illegal immigration as an attack on America since many of the people crossing are criminals and repeat offenders.
Part of President Trump’s argument is that the current fence design is no longer doing what it was intended to do because it is outdated.
Those crossing the borders have found new ways to circumvent the barricades and are still able to penetrate the country.
President Trump wants a wall design that keeps the illegals out and the order patrol safe. He likes the designs that allow the patrols to see through the wall so they know what is coming.
Currently the White House is seeking Congressional approval of billions of dollars to help with the humanitarian crisis at the southern border.
The request for the aid is expected to come soon.
There is some speculation as to how the request will be met by House Democrats.
Many of them are still upset over the state of emergency declaration. It seems like that the House Democrats are not thinking about the well-being of the country and letting their feelings direct political decisions.
The request will open up the Trump administration to questions about the immigration policy and how he plans on moving forward with other major immigration ideas.
It is thought that the White House will also be seeking additional funding for other departments of immigration to help with current processing needs.
So far there has been response from the White House regarding these issues.
The current acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan has verified that the President is going to seek the extra funds. He did not indicate house much was going to be requested. He is quoted as saying that the funds will be used to “address critical humanitarian requirements.”
It is the desire, as indicated by McAleenan, that the border issue be handled in the right way.
With the increase in illegal crossings the President has deployed an additional 3,000 active troops and 2,000 National Guard troops to the border.
This provides the extra security that is badly needed on the southern border.
President Trump as threatened to shut down the border if the flow of illegal immigrants does not stop.
This move would have serious trade issues and problems for many people, but the security of the country is at stake.
The House Democrats are fighting the President on every detail of immigration.
It is thought that this request and future ones will end up getting stuck in the process because the House does not want to work with someone they do not really like.
The House has indicated that they are looking to provide money for certain programs.
They do not want the money to be used for law enforcement at the border. The Democratic Party continues to make it clear that they are more concerned with everything else but the welfare of the United States.
They are unwilling to do what it takes to protect the people of this country.
The President of the United States continues to fight for the American people and to keep growing this great nation.
